The research we conducted confirms that the nature of a social networking site determines how it is used. It turns out that the vast majority of Facebook users (65%) declare that they visit it even several times a day. At the same time, the group of people who regularly use LinkedIn most often (46%) visit it only once or several times a month. We asked about many social media sites, but we found it interesting to compare three of them.
Each is available both in the dextop version and via a Phone Number Data dedicated smartphone application. In each of them, millions of users add new content every day. The study was carried out in the form of a survey. All participants (representative sample of Internet users in Poland aged 18+). We asked how often they use each website, giving them the option to select "not at all" or "difficult to say". Those who declared that they visited the selected website had to indicate one of three items specifying the frequency with which they used it.
In this way, we could calculate the frequency distribution for each social network. The percentages we present therefore refer to groups of people declaring that they use a given website. The leader in the "I visit once or several times a day" category was, of course, Facebook . In its case, only 14% of users visit it very rarely. The rest browse the Facebook newsfeed many times a day. From the point of view of communication, this is information that everyone is happy about.
